Navigating challenges and fostering collaboration at the Contractors Meeting for Clean Energy Transition in Cities and Regions
Without committed and equipped cities and regions, the green transition cannot be achieved.
Therefore, it’s key to empower them through dedicated investments in energy and climate adaptation, enhancing their capacity and skills, and furnishing them with the essential tools to confront the challenges posed by climate change.
This is the mission of EUCityCalc: to provide local authorities with an open-source tool that can help them simulate low-carbon scenarios based on scientific data. Thanks to these scenarios, cities can have a better understanding of their needs and challenges, as well as make informative policy choices.
Every year, the EU organizes several events to showcase successful EU-funded projects and give relevant stakeholders who are striving to fulfill the Green Deal mission opportunities to network.
EUCityCalc at the Contractors Meeting for Clean Energy Transition in Cities and Regions
On 26 October, EUCityCalc took part in the latest edition of the Contractors Meeting for Clean Energy Transition in Cities and Regions.
Organized by the European Commission’s Directorate General for Energy, the Directorate-General for Climate Action and the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA), and in collaboration with the Covenant of Mayors, this conference is meant to present successful and pioneering initiatives funded under the LIFE Clean Energy Transition and the Horizon 2020 programmes. EUCityCalc is one of them.
The conference brings together cities, industry, and financial institutions to exchange good practices and successful solutions to common challenges. During the event, EUCityCalc’s Project Manager Bénédicte Weber presented the project to other practitioners. This exchange was valuable for learning from other projects’ experiences and establishing meaningful synergies.
